Abstract
Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood. During this period in life there is a significant increase in nutritional requirements, especially for iron. Anaemia, a manifestation of under-nutrition and poor dietary intake of iron is a public health problem among adolescents. Anaemia in India primarily occurs due to iron deficiency.
