Abstract
Case report of maternal filicide in a 33year old women who suffering from schizophrenia. Filicide refers to any murder of a child up to the age of 18years committed by his or her parent(s) or parental figure(s), including guardians and step parents. The general risk factor identified with maternal filicide is history of suicidality, history of psychosis or depression and past history of usage of psychiatric services. According to the Resnicks classification of filicide based on motive, altruistic filicide is the most common.
