DEPRESSION,MEMORY DISTURBANCE AND HASHIMOTOS ENCEPHALOPATHY IN A PATIENT WITH HYPOTHYROIDISM- A CASE REPORT

Hashimotos thyroiditis(HT) is a auto immune disorder and is frequently associated with mood disorders.Hashimoto encephalopathy(HE), a severe but rare syndrome with different clinical presentation such as alteration in conscious level, seizure, tremor, myoclonus,ataxia or multiple stroke like episodes.So far memory disturbance is not reported. A female patient major depressive disorder with Hashimotos thyroiditis(HT) and memory disturbance presented.The clinical presentation, antithyroid antibodies and MRI findings discussed.
