Abstract
PA6 (Polyamide 6) hybrid nano composites with Multiwall Carbon Nano Tube (MWCNT) and Copper nano particles as reinforcements were blended in twin screw extruder and specimens were prepared by injection moulding process. The damping factor, damping coefficient and natural frequency of PA6 and its composites were studied in this work. A cantilever beam free vibration setup was used to study the vibration characteristics of PA6 and its composites. PA6 as the matrix material, multiwall carbon nano tube (0.25 wt %) and various proportions of copper nano particles (0.2, 0.4 and 0.6 wt %) were taken for the analysis. Finite Element Analysis was carried out on PA6 and its composites and compared with the experimental results. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) images were used to study the dispersion of reinforcements in the matrix material.
