Abstract
Due to their compactness, reduced weight and cost, transonic compressors and fans are now days widely utilized in gas turbine engines. However, precise and careful design is necessary to achieve performance of high levels. In this thesis, transonic fan blade is designed and modeled in 3D modeling software Creo 2.0 with 31 blades and 39 blades. CFD analysis is performed on the fan to determine outlet pressures, velocities and mass flow rates by changing boundary condition inlet velocity. Static analysis is done on the fan by taking pressures from CFD analysis as boundary condition. Different materials are considered for the analysis where deformations and stresses are determined. Analysis is performed in ANSYS 14.5.
