Abstract

In accordance with the developing countries, education system plays a vital role in deciding where every individual learn , practices and gain knowledge about cultural, global, economic, social, political and universal values. Managing the knowledge or sharing the knowledge gained is one of the important criteria for the success of any nation. Knowledge management can work only if the educational institutions realize the necessity of capturing, creating and leveraging the knowledge in the right way. It includes discussion, co-ordination, control, research & development and also provides informative environment by the utilization of good knowledge management system in any organization. Knowledge management is all about sharing information for the benefit of organization and individuals. The aim of the study is to find out the level of perception on knowledge management and employee performance among college teachers of Engineering colleges in Mysore city, to find out the significant difference of knowledge management and employee performance based on gender, locality of college, and marital status and to find out the relationship between knowledge management and employee performance .It is a survey study which used simple random sampling techniques for collecting the data from the sample .The sample for the study includes 100 teachers from different Engineering colleges of Mysore. Tools used for data collection includes Knowledge Management Scale and Employee Performance Scale. The statistical techniques used are mean, standard deviation, t-test and correlation. Findings showed that there exists a high level of knowledge management and employee performance among the teachers of engineering colleges of Mysore. It revealed that there exists a positive correlation between the knowledge management and employee performance.
