Abstract
The diagnostic process is a specific plan that eliminates known-good components or systems in order to find the root cause of automotive performance problems. All problem diagnosis can be visualized as having symptoms (symptom – based diagnosis) that could be a result of many different parts. This wide range of possible solutions must be narrowed to the most likely and eventually eliminated to the actual cause. This paper introduces the methods for diagnostic of the rear drive axle for cars without its disassembly. Are used visualizing and technical diagnostic methods. Localizing of the noise of visualized methods is done through hear of noises, or stethoscopes, while the technical method of diagnosing the differential is done with vibrometer type MANUAL PCE-VT 3000. By applications of these diagnostic methods greatly would be contributed in quickly localization of the fault of differential where diagnostic process of the service technicians will do faster.
