Abstract
This study is related to the uses of Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model for the prediction of sediment yield from catchment area into Ujjani Reservoir, in Maharashtra State, India. In this study, extensive use of satellite images has been carried out, employing SWAT 2012. The catchment area was divided into 27 sub basins, and 199 HRUs (Hydrologic Response Units). This classification is based on the soil characteristics, land use/land cover, and terrain features. The input data were supplemented with climate data, such as rainfall, wind speed, temperatures (minimum and maximum), relative humidity, and solar radiation, as per standard format employed in the model. The prediction of sediment yield was carried out. Calibration and validation of the model can be carried out in future studies.
