Abstract
Traditional automatic and manual transmissions have several fixed transmission ratios forcing the engine to operate outside the optimum range. In contrast, continuously variable transmissions have an infinitely variable ratio, which allows the engine to operate more time in the optimum range of the engine and transmission ratio. In this paper are analyzed the characteristic parameters for continuous variable power split transmission which could be used in hybrid electric vehicle. Through mathematic model and own worked out programmed code performed in MATLAB environment are analyzed: the transmission ratio versus driving pulley contact angel φ and torques versus of the transmission ratio of the continuous variable power split.
