Abstract
The present study deals with the finite element simulation of bi-axial glass fibre reinforced composite using Abacus CAE 6.13 tool. For the analysis purpose, two different orientation of fabrics are studied such as ±45° and ±30°. Initially tensile and compression tests are performed on the samples and it is found that the bi-axial fabric with orientation of ±45° has better mechanical properties than the fabric with ±30° orientation. The experimental results are analyzed and verified using abacus tool. The percentage of error between the experimental and the stimulated results for the tensile test of (±45°) was 6%, while for the compression test, it was 1.3% respectively. Thus the experimental values and the stimulation values are validated.
