Abstract
Bellows are a component used in the intake or exhaust pipes of automobiles, and are usually used to reduce vibrations. Whereas intake pipes are substantially affected by shape, raising the need for studies on flow, most studies until now have focused primarily on structural analysis. In the present study, proposed helical bellows are proposed and compared against U-type bellows, identifying turbulence kinetic energy characteristics lower than those of U-type bellows. In addition, transmission loss according to changes in helical bellows design factors was analyzed to identify noise reduction characteristics.
