SCOPE FOR DATA ENABLED INFRASTRUCTURE IN PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRIES: A SOLUTION TO MIDSTREAM OPERATING CHALLENGES

A typical petrochemical industry has three components: upstream, midstream, and downstream. Among the three, midstream operations are quite lagging, and they face severe challenges. In this paper, midstream operations and challenges in petrochemical industries were highlighted. A study was carried out on identifying solutions for the midstream operating challenges with the adoption of data enabled infrastructure. Opinions were expressed on the implication of data-driven services for enhancing the midstream operations and thereby allowing the petrochemical industries to have stable financial flow and productivity.
