Abstract

The granulation of dust-like clay by the drop method in a plate laboratory granulator of unbroken action, has been investigated for the first time. The optimum conditions for the process of obtaining spherical pellets have been estab-lished. It was found out that in the process of granulation of fall of a drop on a pouring layer speck of dust of drow into the drop, die to adsorption and roll it on the outside. When rolling away on uneven surface and colliding with other granules the outer speck of dust inculcate into the pellets, into the space between the particles, the water is forced out and the following dust particles stick on the granule. The granule growth stops after saturation of inter-particle space by the dust particles. Besides, the size of granule is determined by the volume of falling drop and the strength increases in proportion to its diameter. The equal droplets form the granules of the same diameter. The main stability of granules is determined in the first two or three minutes of the process, the duration of balling unsignifically increases its stability
