Abstract

Aim. The aim of the study was to determine the direction and severity of the links between the somatotypic and psychological characteristics of a person with social and criminal tension indicators of the population of the Russian Federation. Materials and Methods. The study involved 1471 people, men and women 18-28 years of age, permanently residing within the boundaries of 13 regions with a typical set of combinations of natural and anthropogenic factors characteristic of the Russian Federation territory. As indicators of the somatotype, growth, body weight and body mass index were evaluated. The psychotype of subjects was assessed by a set of indicators of behavioral, social, professional, economic, political activity, social destructiveness, aggressiveness, emotional background and willingness to provide assistance. Based on the analysis of Rosstats official data, the list and severity of social and criminal tensions in the model regions of Russia was determined. The direction and severity of the phenotype interrelationships, social and criminal tensions in the population of the model regions of the Russian Federation were estimated by calculating the Spearman correlation coefficient. Results. As a result of the undertaken researches the complex of interrelations of indicators of phenotypic and social status of the population of Russia is characterized. The possible negative influence of body weight on behavioral and social activity was determined, and the body mass index on economic activity and the willingness to help others. At the same time, a positive correlation of body weight and body mass index with aggressiveness and negative emotions was revealed. Human growth is characterized by a significant negative correlation with mortality from suicide, the level of divorce and alcoholization of the population. The body mass index, on the other hand, is positively correlated with the level of alcoholization and suicide mortality, as well as with the level of voluntary abortion, general crime and serious crime. The increased level of various vectors of behavioral and social activity of the population, apparently, somehow causes a reduction in criminal tensions (general criminality, serious crimes, deaths from murders, HIV infection) in society. Conclusion. Thus, for the first time the direction and severity of the connections between the somatotypic and psychological characteristics of a person with indicators of the social and criminal tensions of the Russian Federation population have been determined.
