The legal regulation of the compulsory social insurance for temporary occupational incapacity due to maternity

The problem of social security coverage for women during pregnancy and postpartum period is highlighted. The inconsistency of the current Russian legislation regulating the social insurance for temporary occupational incapacity due to pregnancy and childbirth is demonstrated. It is suggested that the Social Code of the Russian Federation should be developed. The reasonability of reducing the minimuminsurance period influencing the calculation of maternity allowances to six month has been substantiated. It is shown that the implementation of the current Russian Federation legislation has a negative effect when it concerns the rights of women as individual entrepreneurs in the procedure of the maternity allowance administration.
