Abstract

Diabetes mellitus already become a health problem in Indonesia. One of the complication in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients is diabetic nephropathy that characterized by presence of urine protein. Urine protein is a very strong predictor risk of kidney damage. This study aimed to determine the level and amount of antihypertensive agents use of ACEI (Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitor) and ARB (Angiotensin Receptor Blocker) and to knowing urine protein level improvement after ACEI and ARB antihypertensive agents therapy in diabetic nephropathy patients at Sanglah Hospital Denpasar. This study used a retrospective design by searched medical record data from 2014 to 2015. Descriptive method is noted antihypertensive agent ACEI and ARB by looked data on patient medical records. Descriptive prevalence method is observed medical record data about therapy after three months by looked some parameters that is urine protein level. Compared also effectiveness of ACEI and ARB agents in reduced protein levels in urine. Subjects in this study consisted of thirty-two patients. Results showed that the most widely used antihypertensive agents of ACEI and ARB is captopril and valsartan. There are two patients was achieved antihypertensive agents target of ACEI and ARB. ACEI antihypertensive agent is more effective for lowering patients urine protein level compared with ARB
