Abstract
Bus Rapid Transit System has emerged as one of the innovative, flexible, high capacity and low cost public transportation solution globally. BRTS combines a variety of physical operating and system elements into a permanently integrated system with a quality image and a unique identity. BRTS are in planning and under construction in many cities of India, whereas, it is operational in the city of Pune, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Indore and many more. This paper examines the perceptions and preferences of the Indore city BRTS users this is carried out to infer statistically the importance the user of the BRTS place on specific service characteristics of the system such as travel time, comfort and convenience, safety and security, reliability of service, fare and frequency of service. The paper presents a statistical analysis of the data collected from the user perception survey conducted of the BRTS users this is done to find out the percentage of overall user satisfaction and also to identify how the users perceives and value the system. The result from the analysis indicates a 70.4 percent of overall user satisfaction.
