Abstract
Field studies were conducted in Uttar Pradesh, India, during the 2006 and 2007 kharif seasons, to determine the response of taro (Colocasia esculenta var. antiquorum) genotypes against leaf blight (Phytophthora colocasiae). A total of 90 taro genotypes were evaluated under natural epiphytotic conditions. Results showed that, out of the 90 genotypes evaluated, none was found highly resistant, resistant and moderately resistant. Only 7 genotypes were moderately susceptible, 23 genotypes were susceptible and 60 genotypes were highly susceptible to the pathogen.
