Abstract
This research paper attempts to examine how Khushwant Singh's Train to Pakistan pictures the brutal, realistic story of politic hatred, humanistic concerns and social milieu and of mass passions during the tragic days that preceded and followed the partition of India. The most important symbol in the novel in terms of descriptions of trains that reflect the changing tone of life.
