Abstract
The reaction of thermal addition of bicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene and its 5-methyl substituted derivative with oxalic acid and the reaction of esterification of the obtained monoester ин C2–C6 saturated alcohols to form the corresponding diesters of oxalic acid have been studied. Synthesized diesters have a pleasant balsamic odor and can be used as a component for the preparation of synthetic fragrances
