Organization of the first anniversary of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences celebration in the light of academic institutions’ reporting documentation

Before the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine the preparation for the celebration of the fi rst tenth anniversary of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences in the late 1920s through the early 1930s was explored and historically reconstructed. The article based on documents from the archives of Ukraine highlights the participation of the Academy’s scientifi c institutions in the preparation of a complex of a great jubilee events that were to demonstrate the achievements of Ukrainian academic science during its existence. Attention is drawn to the aspiration of Ukrainian scientists to present the results of their institutions for the popularization of relevant branches of science. For the fi rst time little known facts were introduced into the scientifi c circfulation, based on the archival documents deposited in the Institute of Manuscript of Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine and the Central State Archives of Supreme Bodies of Power and Government of Ukraine. The main sources for the article were reporting documents of scientific institutions of the NAS of Ukraine and the Jubilee Commission created to plan, guide the preparation and conduct of a complex of anniversary events dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the NAS of Ukraine. These documents contain a variety of information on the forms of representation of the results of the activities of academic institutions and the Jubilee Commission. The main attention is drawn to the publishing and exhibition components in the general context of the planned events. The statistics of the preparation of institutions for the jubilee was presented. With their help, one can trace the interest of certain scientific institutions in the popularization of their work. The publication also presents archival documents covering the jubilee events preparation process and related current problems, including the organizational, technical, financial ones, etc.
