Abstract

In this article, we continue to publish sources on the history of Poltava region, launched in the previous issue of the collection of articles of the Institute of Manuscript of Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine “Manuscript and Book Heritage of Ukraine. Archeographic Research of Unique Archival and Librarian Funds” (Is. 21). This time public-law acts - the universals and the letters of hetmans and colonels (in total, 19 documents - universals and letters of Ivan Samoilovich, Ivan Skoropadsky, Daniel Apostle, Colonels Kirill Andreevich, Paul Apostle, Joachim Gorlenko, Vasily Kochubey and especially Ilya Novitsky) are presented. The earliest is the document of Prince Jeremiah Vishnevetsky, concerning the management of the estates of the prince - the city of Chyhyryn-Dibrova . Other categories of documents are also presented: the obligations of priests, purchase deeds, letters. Some documents are taken from copies of the prewar time, the originals of which are deposited in the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts. They cover the events of the initial period of the Ruin. In general, the documents published here shed additional light on the history of Poltava in the 17th and 18th centuries, especially its political aspects. The article contains previously unknown documents relating to the past of the Hetman period in Poltava region, the towns and villages of Lubny, Myrhorod and Poltava regiments, their socio-economic, political and ecclesiastical history, such poorly studied sotnias as Ostapivska, cities flooded with artificial Dnieper reservoirs in the 20th century - Chyhyryn-Dibrova; some of the Princely genera(Iskra). The annexes contain a register of the document relating to the history of the village of Zubany, whose inhabitants took part in the famous anti-feudal uprising of the eighteenth century. The information potential of the published documents is analyzed.
