Library Analytical Units in the System of Strategic Communications

The role of analytical units of scientific libraries in the development of strategic communications in Ukraine is considered. The positive experience in cooperation of information and analytical support service of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine with state authorities to counter Russia’s information aggression is analyzed. Significant potential of analytical units of libraries, its ability to monitor and analyze society current problems on the basis of open sources of information, libraries’ funds for the needs of state bodies, dissemination of publicly important information among the population and the expansion of free access library users to information is highlighted. It is specified that formation of the system of strategic communications in Ukraine creates additional institutional opportunities for further development of mechanisms to counteract Russia’ information aggression and allows scientific libraries to determine its place in this system.
