Abstract
The article shows the role of trophallaxis in life expectancy and change in body weight of termites of the genus Anacanthotermes. The degree of independent eating is most strongly expressed in middle and high segment, appears weak among younger workers of termites, quite noticeable in nymphs and absent in larvae and soldiers. These data suggest a great biological role of joint (colonial) life of termites.
