UNUSUAL PRESENTATION INVOLGING PAROTID SPACE INFECTION FROM MANDIBULARODONTOGENIC ORIGIN

Abstract
The parotid space lies in between the enveloping layers of the deep cervical fascia covering the parotid gland. It contains are parotid gland, VII Nerve lymph nodes, external carotid artery, posterior facial vein. Deep neck spaces are the spaces within the layers of deep cervical fascia. CASE REPORT - We are presenting here a case report of parotid space infection in a 26 year old male known Type I Diabetic Mellitus complaints of swelling extend from below right pinna to the angle of mandle 20 days duration, USG Neck and CT Neck shows right parotid space infection, incision and drainage done. CONCLUSION - In our case the cause of parotid space arising from odontogenic sources usually of maxillary origin but in our case origin is from mandibular which is rare presentation.
