INVESTIGATION OF CANDIDATE TEACHERS’ SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE LEVEL

Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine pre-service teachers' social intelligence level in terms of gender and academic success. This study is a quantitative study designed as a survey model. The study was carried out with 180 students studying at faculty of education, Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University. “Social Intelligence Scale” was used in the research. Variables are gender and grade point averages. Kolmogorov Smirnov Normality test and Levene test assessing the equality of variances are applied to data. Independent samples t test and One Way Anova test are applied for analyses. The students' social intelligence scores were 2.74 out of 5. In parallel with the result, social intelligence level of the students does not have significant influence on gender and grade point averages (GPA).
