Abstract
The article is devoted to the comparative analysis of national cultural specificity of emotive FU with a zoonym component in the English and Russian languages. This type of phraseological units is interesting because it reveals the features peculiar to animals, that the person transfers to himself and broadcasts certain positive, neutral or negative emotions with their help. The zoonym components of the FU are defined within the article as cultural phenomena. The timeliness of work is determined by the complexity of the research, the integration of structural and semantic and linguoculturological approaches in the analysis of traditional language material. The conducted research has allowed to develop the classification of zoonym FU according to a dominant zoonym component. It has been revealed that in English the components having the greatest phraseological activity are the zoonyms dog and cat; horse occurs practically twice less often; pig, bat, wolf etc. have a smaller activity. In Russian, unlike English, the most frequent animalistic component of the FU is cat, then come horse, dog, sheep, pig, etc. These zoonym images are typical, and represent an integral part of the English and Russian language picture of the world. The comparative analysis of zoonym FU has shown the existence of similarities and divergences in their emotive colouring. The description of phraseological activity, structural and semantic features of zoonym FU allow to better comprehend the status of their key component. The study of animalistic images which are a part of the English and Russian FU promotes a deeper understanding of their national cultural specifics.
