Abstract

When eliminating spills of hydrocarbon compounds, it is necessary to carry out emergency measures in the shortest possible time, effectively, with the lowest economic costs and with minimal consequences for the environment. Today, the world produces about two hundred different oil sorbents, however, none of the sorbents fully meets all these requirements. The purpose of the study is to determine the sorption properties of the fuzz of the typha perianth in relation to various hydrocarbons. The sorption capacity of the fuzz of the typha perianth for oil, diesel fuel, gasoline, mineral is determined. It is shown that the increase in the contact time of the sorbent with the sorbent does not increase the amount of absorbed hydrocarbon. A certain minimum contact time of the fuzz of the typha perianth sorbent is 5 seconds. It is shown that the amount of oil extracted from the spent sorbent exceeds 60 %.
