Abstract
In connection with the development of the Arctic zone, the problem of providing the population with food products arises. The possibility of using methods for the production of vegetables as well as green fodder for meat and dairy cattle breeding under the winter conditions of the continental climate is considered. The thermally insulated greenhouses have been developed, in which the microclimate and artificial lighting are maintained, soil mixes and hydroponics are used. The experience of winter growing of vegetables and green fodder for livestock farming is shown. The schemes of conveyor installations for continuous production of vegetable products with a high degree of mechanization are given.
