V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine as a Century-long Repository of Intellectual Property of the Ukrainian People

The article focuses on the priority directions of Ukraine's national interests, namely the preservation of the intellectual potential of the Ukrainian people. The principles and conditions for the creation of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine are revea- led. It turns out that for century, the Library collecting and preserving documentary sources have been remain a reliable intellectual property storage facility of the state. The paper indicates the important role of the Library in the preservation of the intellectual property of the nation.
