Abstract
The external carotid and internal carotid arteries are the major sources of blood supply to head and neck. There have been many case reports regarding the variations in the origin and branching pattern of external carotid artery. In the present case, we describe a very rare positional variation of external carotid artery on the right side. The position of external carotid artery is anterolateral to internal carotid at the bifurcation of common carotid artery. The knowledge of this rare variation is important for Vascular Surgeons, Radiologists and Anatomists.
