Abstract
The uncertain nonlinear systems can be modelled with fuzzy equations by incorporating the fuzzy set theory. In this paper, the fuzzy equations are applied as the models for the uncertain nonlinear systems and present a new approach for solving usual fuzzy arithmetic operations to solve a non-linear fuzzy algebraic equation. In the iterative formula, fuzzy function value is replaced by its magnitude in order to preserve the excellent convergence properties of false position method. Numerical results on well-known benchmark fuzzy nonlinear equations are reported to authenticate the effectiveness and efficiency of the approach.
