Abstract
To quantify internal adaptation process criteria, the anxiety level measurements were performed by the author. To esteem the external adaptation process criteria, results of first-year students' rating control were analyzed. It was found, that adaptation process affects more than a third of first-year medical university students, giving strong influence on both internal and external levels. Highly motivated students experience great difficul- ties in university adaptation process, and good academic results become harder to achieve for first-year medical students because of strong emotional stresses. In contrast, low motivated students do not suffer from university adaptation process. Their anxiety level remains normal regardless to their academic results
