Abstract
The article focuses on the analyses of the main results of research on the dependence of the income level on education of the Volgograd and Volgograd region economically active population. The theoretical basis for this research is a spectrum of theories of human capital, investment and economic growth. In order to collect primary data the author uses poll. The basic methods of data analysis are correlation and cluster analysis. The author concludes that higher education is a necessary but not sufficient condition for a large income.
