Abstract
A size optimization design method for the frame of a three-wheeled motorcycle with a cargo box is proposed considering high load and motion conditions that may occur under straight-driving and curve-driving conditions. The existing frame of a three-wheeled motorcycle with a cargo box was compared with the frame under high load through finite-element analysis by applying longitudinal bending and torsion, and the thicknesses of the members that exceeded allowable stress were optimized using the design of experiments. The comparison and analysis of both the existing model and the optimally designed model confirmed that the frame strength was improved compared with the existing frame
