Abstract

The meat products subsector is one of the most important elements of the product structure of the agro-industrial sector (AIS) of the Russian Federation. Modern economic conditions make it necessary to form, on the basis of the existing meat and food subsector, a real operating meat market, oriented towards meeting the needs of the population for meat and meat products and operating on the basis of economic laws with state participation in regulation. There are several approaches to the study of the essence of this economic mechanism: process, systemic and functional. The logic of the study led the author to the choice of the process approach to study the formation and development of the economic mechanism of inter-branch relations in the subsector. In the structure of the economic mechanism of inter-sectoral relations, the author has substantiated the tools that allow increasing the efficiency of development of the subsector via the process approach. In this regard, the author has proposed a methodological approach to analysis based on inter-sectoral balance which implies studying the contribution of each industry of the agro-industrial sector based on identifying the amount of the increment (addition) of value to each specific value of products that goes into this area from other areas and industries. As a result, new value is created within each specific area and this value is transferred to the related products that are created.
