Abstract
Primary glioblastoma of the spinal cord is a rare condition. Even with aggressive management, these tumours are generally associated with a dismal outcome. MethodCase reportResultsA young man presented with progressive weakness in both the lower limbs. MRI spine showed an expansile lesion in C5-T3 level. The patient underwent laminectomy with maximal tumour decompression. Histo-pathological examination revealed spinal glioblastoma grade IV. Post operatively he received irradiation 50.4 Gy to the tumor and along with temozolamide 75mgm2. The patient is planned for 6 cycles of adjuvant temozolamide 200 mgm2.ConclusionDespite aggressive treatment with radical surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, this disease progresses rapidly with a poor prognosis and a short survival time. This case is presented for its rarity.
