Abstract
The novel “Ruh Adam” (The Spirit Man), which has a different narrative technique among Turkish novels in terms of fiction and content, is a work that has not been fully solved and has not obtained its deserved value in Turkish literature. Ruh Adam novel was basically formed around a fairy tale text. Thus, the novel consists of three interlocking cases. The first case is made up of the events in the Uyghur tale. The second case is the case formed around Selim Pusat. Third case was shaped around his son and his generation after Selim Pusat's disappearing. In this novel, the effects of the periods of the author's childhood, the reproachful atmosphere of the injustices of his life, the problem of reincarnation that led to confusion between the tale text and the main case, the effect of the Uygur tale shaping the inner case and its effect on the main case, the parallels between the Uyghur tale and the main case, the similarities of experienced lives and experiencing similar lives again and again are the essence of this study. With all these aspects, this is a powerful novel with a very different fiction technique among Turkish novels. The main purpose of this study is to show that, contrary to the general judgment, Ruh Adam is a postmodern novel.
