Abstract

The article deals with the analyses of the novel “Stoner” written by America writer, John Edward Williams. The change of university model in the XX century, based on the main character John Stoner, was analyzed. The transition of the university, from elitism into mass was investigated. The comparison of traditional models of the university was made, and their modernization had been analyzed.
