Abstract
CD14 molecule and CD14 gene has been characterized in various livestock species. Structural analysis of CD14 molecule and CD14 gene encoding it is helpful for understanding its function for immuno-modulation. CD14 gene has been observed to be highly variable both between and within species, which may be helpful for biodiversity and evolutionary studies.
