Abstract

Ebû Yûsuf Yakub b. İbrahim el-Ensari (d. 182/798) is a scribe interpreter of Islamic law who lived in golden age of second century of hijri calendar and who impressed the conception of Islamic law and who leaded a good deal of developments in Isla-mic law. Ebû Yûsuf is regarded as a trustworthy scholar not only in conception of Is-lamic law but also in hadith and he is known as the one who tried personally to en-hance his information and conception of Islamic law. In this study, Ebu Hanife'S attribution to the conception of Islamic law will be presented; brought forward re-marks about whether Ebû Yûsuf is an absolute interpreter of Islamic law or not will be evaluated and finally Ebû Yûsuf's disagreemants with his master Ebu Hanife in term of Islamic crimimal law will be submitted by giving some examples of judicial opinions
