VAGAL SCHWANNOMA A CONCURRENT FINDING IN A CASE OF FOLLICULAR NEOPLASM - A CASE REPORT

Abstract
Presenting a case of a 50 year old female with complaint of swelling in front of neck was diagnosed as a case of follicular neoplasm of thyroid with level I and II node enlargement left (secondaries). Total thyroidectomy with functional neck dissection was performed. Intraoperatively, a spherical mass was found behind the carotid sheath pushing the carotid artery anteriorly and medially. The well encapsulated mass was removed in toto without injury to the surrounding structures. the histo pathological examination was reported as follicular adenoma of thyroid with reactive follicular hyperplasia of lymph nodes and SCHWANNOMA
