A rare case of sphenoidal sinus malignancy presenting as orbital apex syndrome

Abstract
Orbital apex syndrome comprises of optic neuropathy resulting in visual loss and ophthalmoplegia involving multiple cranial nerves. Inflammation accounts for about 71 percentage of causes and neoplasms of orbit and paranasal sinuses account for 8 percentage of causes of orbital apex syndrome. Of the above said 8 percentage, only 0.6-2 percentage of orbital apex syndrome is due to sphenoidal sinus malignancy. We herein report an incidence of the same due to sphenoidal sinus malignancy for its rare occurence.
