Abstract
Pregnancies in a bicornuate uterus are usually considered high-risk and require extra monitoring because of association with poor reproduction potential. A bicornuate uterus is associated with increased adverse reproductive outcomes. Rotation of the gravid uterus is a normal finding in the third trimester of pregnancy. However, a pathologic rotation of the uterus beyond 45 degrees or torsion of the entire uterus is rarely Seen in obstetrical practice. Torsion of anomalous gravid uterus is a rarest incidence according to piot et al. Incidence of torsion secondary to bicornuate uterus was 14.9 percent. We report here a case of uterine torsion in a bicornuate gravid uterus from our institution.
