Abstract
The incidence of odontoid fracture is only 10 of all cervical spine fractures. The management of odontoid fractures has evolved to a great extent. But still a great deal of controversy persists even today as to the best method for treating odontoid fractures with atlanto axial instability. In this case report we discuss how the traditional gallie sublaminar c1c2 wiring still holds good in conditions where lateral mass screw fixation is not possible
