Abstract
The youth in rural and tribal districts in India experience exclusion, lack of empowerment and severe poverty, while many of their counterparts in urban areas have access to resources and avail empowerment. The situation of youth in some areas, witnesses the armed action or naxal movements at increasing rate. Reasons responsible for such type of situation are poverty, discrimination, alienation, exclusion and poor governance system in both rural and tribal India.
The present paper focuses to study the evolution of naxal movement and the loss of life of civilians as well as naxals and analyses policy and programmes of Government of India for mainstreaming the Youth of disturbed states.
