JOB BURNOUT AND COMMITMENT AMONG AIRPORT OPERATIONS EMPLOYEES

Abstract

Commitment is considered to be linked with the productivity. There are many factors that determines employees commitment, pay package, verbal communication, material, rewards, promotion, nature of duties, management attitude etc. are some of the important factors of job commitment. Besides them job stress and burnout is also one of the most important factor. Viewing the significance of commitment particularly for the employees working on sensitive positions like Airport the study was designed to see the job burnout and commitment among the employees belonging to two different divisions of airport operations. Total 100 samples were taken from Air traffic control & Airside operations divisions with fifty from each division for measuring burnout and commitment, Maslach MBI and Allen & Mayer commitment scale were administered on them. Findings revealed that there was marginal deference between the employees of different divisions on commitment while on job burnout the two groups of employees differed significantly. Correlation between the two scores were incense but significant.
