Abstract
In the present study floating microspheres of MET-H with polymers HPMC K15 and EC in different ratios were prepared by non-aqueous solvent evaporation technique were optimized and the performance of these formulations was evaluated and the effect of various formulation variables were studied. Floating microspheres of MET-H were prepared by a solvent evaporation method. In-vitro data obtained from floating microspheres of MET-H exhibited good buoyancy and release the drug in controlled manner via a diffusion mechanism. It was convenient dosage form for achieving best performance regarding flow, release and floating properties noticed that increase in the HPMC K15 concentration, increased the drug release and good buoyancy. Microspheres of different size and drug content can be obtained by changing the formulation variables. The drug release was sufficiently sustained and constant and non-Fickian transport of the drug from floating microspheres was confirmed.
