Abstract
To some extent, economic and energy security are interrelated and interdependent. On the one hand, economic security as a system includes energy security as a subsystem. On the other hand, the category of “energy security” has an independent meaning. It has been substantiated that for food subcomplexes of the agri-food complex, there are three main options for combining the imperatives in order to ensure economic, food and energy security. Under the conditions of a highly competitive world sugar market, it is advisable to evaluate the level of development of the sugar beet subcomplex of Ukraine primarily by indicators of both social and environmental efficiency and economic efficiency of sugar beet production, which should be taken into account when strategizing the economic and energy security of beet-growing farms and sugar factories.
