Abstract

The state of youth unemployment in Central Asian countries is considered in this article. Young men and women today face increasing uncertainty about their hopes for a satisfactory transition to the labour market, and this uncertainty and frustration, in turn, can have detrimental effects on individuals, communities, the economy and society as a whole. Unemployed or part-time young people are less able to contribute effectively to national development and have fewer opportunities to exercise their rights as citizens. Unemployment as a social phenomenon has serious consequences since it blurs investments in human capital and increases the risk of being excluded from the labor market, which leads to a negative status “neither in employment, nor in education, nor in education”. Despite the fact that each country in the region has its own unique conditions, features of cultural, institutional and political factors, youth employment is a key issue shared by the countries of the entire region. The article analyzes the causes of unemployment in each country. The theoretical value of the article is to update the development of professional skills and improve the employment prospects of young people. The development of professional skills and improvement of the employment prospects of young people are included in the political programs of each country in the region. One of the ways to solve the issue of youth employment is to bring the education system in line with the requirements of the labor market. A competitive basis for each professional level with the gradual integration of young people into the labor market should be organized in the education system.
